What to Expect

Our Sunday service is designed to help you connect with God and grow in your faith in a welcoming, Christ-centered environment. Whether you're new to church or have attended for years, we hope you'll feel right at home.


Live Worship

Each service begins with live worship led by our worship team. Through a blend of contemporary music and meaningful lyrics, we gather to praise God and prepare our hearts for His Word.


Biblical Teaching

Following worship, you'll hear a practical, Bible-based message that points to Jesus and encourages you to apply God's truth to your everyday life.


Communion

Each Sunday, we share in communion as a church family to remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. If you are a follower of Christ, you are invited to participate. Communion emblems are available as part of the service.


Our services typically last about an hour, and we invite you to stay afterward to meet others, ask questions, and get connected.

Pastor Luke Emmert

Luke Emmert was born July 9, 1976.  He married his beautiful wife Michelle on May 18, 2002.  He has three kids; Robert Luke II (AKA – Bobby), Josephine Elizabeth (AKA – Josie) and Annette Grace (Who he likes to call Nettie).  Luke enjoys coffee in the morning with Michelle, playing with kids anytime, and watching University of Tennessee sports with anyone who also likes the Vols.


Luke has been a part of the Jefferson City Christian Church family since its very first service in the summer of 1983.  He moved with his family when his father, Bob Emmert was called to plant a church in Jefferson City. After graduating High School, he served as the part-time youth minister while attending Johnson Bible College and was then hired full time in January of 2000.  Luke served in the youth ministry for 20 years before being called into the role of teaching pastor in 2018. In 2020 he was then called as Lead Pastor of Jefferson City Christian Church (JC3).

More about us

  • We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Trinity). We believe that Jesus Christ became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.


    We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.


    We believe it is out of undeserved love and grace that God sent His only son, Jesus, to establish His Kingdom on earth and save us from sin. God reconciled us to Himself through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. It is by grace we are saved through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8). 


    We believe the first response to the grace of God is being obedient to the command Jesus gave the church in his great commission (Matthew 28: 19-20). We see this pattern in the church when they asked those who put their faith in Jesus to “Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).  When we choose to put our faith in Jesus Christ; confession, repentance, and baptism are essential steps to having a relationship with Him. 


    We believe the church is people who give their allegiances to God and His Kingdom on earth. They choose to live for Christ and not for themselves. They do this by leaving their sin behind, being obedient to God's Word (the Bible), and joining His work in the world He created. 



    We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error, and the guide to living out our best life.

  • A Church Built on Faith

    Jefferson City Christian Church (JC3) began in the summer of 1983 when Bob Emmert answered God's call to plant a new church in Jefferson City, Tennessee. With a small group of believers, a clear vision, and a deep commitment to God's Word, the church was established with one purpose:


    To lead all kinds of people into a committed relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.


    From those humble beginnings, God has faithfully blessed the ministry as lives have been transformed through the Gospel, families have been strengthened, and countless people have taken their next step in following Christ.


    Growing Together

    Over the years, JC3 has grown from a new church plant into a thriving church family serving Jefferson County and the surrounding communities.


    As God continued to provide opportunities for growth, the church expanded its ministries to serve every generation—from infants and children in KidsWay to students, young adults, families, and senior adults. Throughout every season, our mission has remained the same: helping people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and live out His love in their everyday lives.


    Beyond our weekly services, JC3 has sought to make a lasting impact through local outreach, missions, community partnerships, Bible studies, camps, and opportunities to serve both locally and around the world.


    A Legacy of Leadership

    Since planting the church in 1983, Bob Emmert faithfully served as Lead Pastor, helping shape the culture and mission that continue to define JC3 today.


    In 2020, Luke Emmert became Lead Pastor after serving the church in youth ministry for two decades and later as Teaching Pastor. Luke's connection to JC3 stretches back to the church's very first service, when he moved to Jefferson City with his family as his father planted the church. Today, he continues to lead the congregation with the same passion for biblical teaching and reaching people with the hope of Jesus Christ.


    Looking Ahead

    While much has changed since 1983, one thing has never changed: our commitment to sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.


    We believe the best chapters of our story are still ahead. As God continues to work in and through JC3, we remain dedicated to helping people find hope, experience authentic community, discover their purpose, and become fully devoted followers of Christ.

    How long is the service?
    Our services typically last about one hour.


    What should I wear?
    Come as you are! You'll see everything from jeans and T-shirts to business casual. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.


    What kind of music do you play?
    We worship through contemporary music led by our live worship team.


    Do you offer communion?
    Yes. We celebrate communion each Sunday as we remember Jesus' sacrifice. If you are a follower of Christ, you are invited to participate.


    Do you have something for my children?
    Absolutely! KidsWay is available during both Sunday services for children from birth through 4th grade.


    Are your volunteers background checked?
    Yes. Every KidsWay volunteer is trained and has successfully completed a background check.


    What about older kids?
    The Ride (5th–6th Grade) and Rooted (7th–12th Grade) meet during the 9:30 AM service on Sundays.


    Will I have to introduce myself?
    No. While we'd love to meet you, you won't be singled out or asked to stand during the service.


    Can I attend if I'm not a Christian?
    Absolutely! Everyone is welcome, no matter where they are in their faith journey.
